'Holiday fever to eurozones erupts'

Holiday fever is taking the nation by storm, as schools shut down for the summer and families head off on their breaks.

The Associated Press reports that the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta) has tipped eurozones, such as France and Spain, as popular places to visit this year due to the favourable exchange rate.

It is estimated that more than two million people are heading off on holiday as the schools finish, meaning that ferry terminals may face a busy period as Brits make their way across the channel.

Abta added that despite growing pressures on their finances, Brits are still determined to visit sunnier climes this summer.

The Lonely Planet travel guide describes eurozone holiday destination France as a "belle", which is "beautiful by name, beautiful by nature" and "still turning heads".

It adds that France is the country which invented chic, gave the world champagne and is renowned for its gastronomic greatness.
