Many teenagers who wish to hop on a ferry to the continent to enjoy the best winter sports holidays available have been offered a range of resorts to try by a writer.
In a recent report, Martin Symington highlighted the delights in store for the age group in Austria's Tyrol, noting the delight of spending time on the Rettenbach glacier and sitting at tables made from ice in an igloo.
Writing in a column for the Times, he said of the experience: "However, they were furnished with slabs of ice covered with sheepskins and we were soon snug as hibernating marmots in our ultra-thermal hooded sleeping bags."
Mr Symington added: "We dozed off listening to the ice walls making creaking and cracking noises."
Another skiing resort young ferry travellers may want to go to is Tignes in France, which the writer highlighted as good for its range of extreme sports such as climbing and ice diving.
The official website for Soelden's Rettenbach glacier stated that the scenery provides perfect slopes for passionate sports fans.
