The town of Evreux in northern France is a pretty cathedral town set in stunning countryside

Renowned for its interesting architecture, one of the most intriguing buildings is the town hall. It boasts picturesque fountains and lovely old ramparts which you can walk around. Evreux's charming 12th century cathedral is famed for its beautiful, stained glass windows which date from the 14th and 15th centuries.

If you’re an art lover, visit the Monet museum and take a stroll through Monet's garden at Giverny where the painter painted some of his most famous work. The stunning surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, cycling and horse-riding and there’s an excellent 18 hole golf course too. For water sports, check out the Iton River which flows by the town.
