We recommend you take the time to visit some well-known tourist destinations and hidden gems of the Cantabria region.

King Alfonso XIII used to spend his summers in Santander nearly a century ago and still today the town hasn't lost its sense of grandeur. It's popular among the fashionable set from Madrid who like to saunter along the El Sardinero beach before the belle époque buildings.

Santanilla del Mar is reckoned by many to be one of the prettiest towns in Spain, and has been declared a national monument. Many of its ancient houses still stand. Be sure to visit the 12th-century Colegiata de Santa Juliana - Juliana was an early Christian martyr apparently tortured to death by her husband.

Comillas is a picturesque medieval village popular for its beaches and secluded coves. Gaudí built his Capricho de Gaudí here as a summer house for a wealthy resident. Its brickwork is decorated by sunflowers; Gaudí also added blinds that play musical notes when they're opened or closed. The building now houses an upscale restaurant.
