P&O Ferries Apprenticeships

P&O FERRIES APPRENTICESHIPS

A career at sea offers a whole range of exciting opportunities, and our P&O Ferries apprenticeships give you the chance to join this industry and embark on some fantastic adventures.

Our apprentices are sufficiently trained to ensure that we have the best staff for the future, and you can choose a deck or engine room apprenticeship depending on what interests you the most. This 24-month programme will teach you all you need to know, and you will finish the course with a Diploma in Maritime Studies.

P&O Ferries apprenticeships involve working with amazing technology, learning both practical and technical skills, gaining confidence, and discovering how to be a great leader, all of which will help you to have a successful career at sea.

For more information, head to the national site managed by the Merchant Navy Training Board, and register your interest through our careers page to receive alerts on future vacancies. You will need to be able to travel to and from the port of Dover each day for your shifts, but all other expenses are covered.

If you would like to become an Officer Cadet, take a look at the Ship Safe Training Group website where you can find out more and submit your application.

JADE TOWNLEY

“I’ve always been hands-on and this course really suits that style of learning for me! Even though I am still in the early days of my course, I’ve learnt so much already!”

CONNAN MILES

“I love the fact that I can get so much hands-on learning from my colleagues, whilst also earning world-wide recognised qualifications.”

JAMES RIGBY

“I am now in my second year of training. I can’t believe how quickly it has gone but feel excited that I am now close to completing the programme. I can’t remember my former job as a labourer – this job is so different and every day is a new challenge.”
