Spirit of Britain

One of our newest ships, the Spirit of Britain had its maiden voyage in 2011.

At 213 metres long, it’s one of the largest ferries operating in Europe today.

The Spirit of Britain offers customers the best on board experience possible, as our designers talked to passengers, staff and freight drivers about what they would like to see on our Dover to Calais route. This vital research helped create the Spirit of Britain - and influenced everything from the on board facilities to the interiors. 

The ship has a unique design which minimises drag in the shallow waters of the channel. So despite holding 2000 passengers, 1059 cars or 180 freight vehicles, it can go at an improved speed of up to 22 knots.
