TAKING YOUR HOLIDAY HOME FROM LIVERPOOL TO DUBLIN

BOOKING
  • When looking for departure times, select trailer or caravan.
  • Select the right size for your car’s and caravan’s dimensions.
  • Remember to include any extra length or height if you plan to have bicycles at the back of your vehicle or roof boxes on top.
BEFORE YOU TRAVEL
  • Check that your travel and breakdown insurance covers you for driving your caravan or motorhome in Europe.
  • Get your motorhome or caravan serviced before you travel.
  • Do a little planning of your route in France so you know where caravans and motorhomes are allowed to stay or park.
DEPARTURE DAY
  • During busy periods (like summer and bank holidays) allow extra time to get to the port.
  • Check in at least 30 minutes before your departure time.
  • You’ll pass through passport control before you go through to check in.
DRIVING IN EUROPE
  • You must have a GB sticker or Euro number plate.
  • In France you are legally required to have a warning triangle and reflective jacket in your vehicle.
  • Some countries require you to have spare bulbs, first aid kits and fire extinguishers – so check before you travel.
