FIRST TIME TRAVELLING BY FERRY TO DUBLIN?

But that’s not all – when you travel by ferry you can pack as much as your car can carry, and enjoy a complementary meal, all while making your way across the Irish Sea. And if you want to explore Ireland on two wheels, you can take your bike on any P&O Ferry at no extra cost to your booking.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN TRAVELLING BY FERRY TO IRELAND

ARRIVING AT LIVERPOOL PORT

  • The P&O Ferries Liverpool terminal is in Bootle, around 4.5miles from the city centre.
  • The Liverpool ferry terminal is easily accessible by road, rail or bus. For further directions, read our guide to getting to the port of Liverpool.
  • Enter the port and follow signs to passport control.

CHECKING IN

  • Check-in on our Liverpool route closes 60 minutes before departure.
  • Have your photo ID ready and be prepared for a security check.
  • Follow signs to the P&O Ferries check in.
  • Check in with your booking reference. You’ll then receive a lane hanger to hang on your rear-view mirror.

BOARDING THE FERRY

  • Before you board, we’ll point you into a holding lane, so drive up and await instructions.
  • You’ll then be guided onto the ship and a staff member will advise you where to park.

GETTING TO THE PASSENGER DECK

  • Follow instructions from staff members.
  • Collect your cabin key from the passenger deck.
  • If you need extra help, do let one of our staff know.
