Once you’ve got your travel basics sorted, there are a few more details you might want to think about when making your booking. Escape the crowds and experience the luxury and comfort of travelling in our all inclusive Club Lounge, when you travel from Dover to Calais with us! You can add Club Lounge to your booking during the booking process. Travelling with a dog? Check out our new stylish Pet Lounges - exclusively for dogs and their owners.

 

You may also want to think about Foreign Currency and Travel Insurance. With our P&O Ferries' reserve and collect service, not only will you avoid a commission charge by reserving online, but you'll also avoid the queues! Simply order online and collect on the ship from our Bureau de Change during your crossing. 

 

We have up to 12 crossings a day on our Dover to Calais route, making it even easier to plan your trip. Plus, with no luggage limits, you can pack as much or as little as you like – perfect for a family trip.


Choosing your ticket type

We have three ticket types available to choose from on our Dover to Calais route, to allow you to tailor your trip to your own travel needs! These are listed below.

 

 

  • Standard - our cheapest non-refundable ticket. Travel as booked, simply book and go. Cancellation and Amendment fees apply.

  • Standard Flexi - our best value flexible ticket type. Allowing you to sail within +/- 4 hours of your booked sailing time (subject to availability), and with no amendment fees*

  • Fully Flexi - our most flexible ticket. For complete peace of mind and total flexibility, our Fully Flexi ticket is fully refundable and you can travel on any departure time that suits you (subject to availability).

Travelling with a vehicle

Travelling with a vehicle is easy when you choose to sail with P&O Ferries on our Dover to Calais route.

 

You can choose to travel in your car, on your bicycle, motorbike or even take the caravan or motorhome – giving you the flexibility to create your perfect holiday, along with taking everything you need with you for your adventure!

Travelling with your pet

It costs £15 per pet each way to travel on the Dover to Calais route, with registered Guide and Hearing Dogs travelling free of charge. We accept dogs, cats and ferrets.

 

All pets must stay in the vehicle during the trip, unless travelling in our new Pet Lounge - exclusively for dogs only.

 

Please ensure your pet’s documentation is compliant before travelling with us, as you could be refused travel at the port if documentation is not compliant.

Travelling on foot

Did you know you can travel on our Dover to Calais ferries even if you don’t have a vehicle? Simply select Foot Passenger during the booking process. We've put together a few helpful tips below, however please visit our dedicated foot passenger page for more information.

 

If you’re travelling on foot, you must check-in at least 90 minutes before departure time.

 

Shuttle buses are available from the Calais terminal, for more information on these and foot passenger sailing times please visit our foot passenger page.

We're sorry but foot passengers are unable to bring pets on board - with the exception of guide dogs.

 

Please note: foot passengers are no longer allowed to non-land.


Travelling with a bike

Getting around on two wheels offers you the freedom of living like a local when you arrive at your destination.

Passengers travelling with bicycles should check-in no later than 90 minutes prior to the sailing time.
