GETTING TO CAIRNRYAN
You can get to Cairnryan ferry terminal easily by road, rail or bus.
Below you’ll find all the information you need to get there on your departure day.
Make sure you leave in plenty of time: Check-in closes 30 minutes before departure for vehicles, and 45 minutes for foot passengers.
The ferry terminal is 4 miles from Stranraer.
From the north, follow the A77 south from Glasgow/Ayr. From the south,follow the M6/A74 to Carlisle, then the A75 via Dumfries towards Stranraer. Two miles south of Stranraer, turn right onto the A751/A77.
The 350 bus service runs between the centre of Stranraer, Stranraer station and the port from Monday to Saturday.
There are frequent coach services to the port from Ayr, Dumfries, Stranraer, Carlisle, Preston and Birmingham.
The nearest station to Cairnryan ferry port is Stranraer, which is around 4 miles from the port.
- The terminal can get busy at peak times so please arrive in plenty of time for your ferry.
- There is limited free-of-charge parking at the port only – no paid parking for either long or short stay.
- It’s important we get everyone on board quickly so all ferries can depart on schedule.
