One of our newest ships, the Spirit of France had her maiden voyage in 2012.
At 213 metres long, she’s one of the largest ferries operating in Europe today. Along with her sister 'Spirit' class ship the Spirit of Britain, the Spirit of France is one of the largest cross-channel ferries constructed on the Dover to Calais route.
As well as an improved on board passenger experience, the Spirit of France has three separate vehicle decks. If we laid her full vehicle load end to end it would create a whopping four kilometres of traffic.
Despite being able to carry twice the amount of load as its predecessors, the Spirit of France has been designed to reduce drag and enhance fuel economy, giving her an improved speed of up to 22 knots.
