Mini Cruise details

The historical backdrop combined with the modern day life of Ghent in Belgium offers its visitors the best of both worlds.

With pavement cafés, stylish shops, and choice of hotels, there are stunning places to see and plenty to do in Ghent. The only thing you need to decide is whether you’ll see it by foot, bicycle, carriage, moped, sailing boat or even hot air balloon!

If it’s authentic food and drink that you’re into then you won’t be disappointed. Ghent is famed for its Mestel bread, a spiced sandwich roll, Tierenteyn, a regional mustard, and, of course, Belgian confectionery, including chocolates, sweets, and ‘Sneeuwballen’ - traditional treats made from dark chocolate, vanilla and a dusting of icing sugar which simply melt on the tongue.

There are also yearly festivals, concerts, exhibitions, and plenty of walking, shopping, theatre, and concert activities, so you can tailor your visit to suit you.

Visit Gravensteen Castle during Ghent Mini Cruise P&O Ferries.

Explore the incredible Gravensteen Castle

During the Middle Ages Ghent was one of the richest and most powerful cities in Europe. Gravensteen Castle is situated in the heart of the city, a 12th century stone castle complete with moat.

They hold a range of events throughout the year making it one of Ghent’s most visited attractions. Our top tip is to go to the top of the ramparts for brilliant views of the city skyline.
